Day 5 on the Elodie - sailing toward Middleburg

Today was the best day yet.  The boat had some mechanical problems which led to a change in our riding schedule.  Nico explained our options.  Since the boat was not going anywhere until it was running properly, it would not be able to travel to our next destination while we rode.  We ended up riding along the coast, through sand dunes and along beautiful beaches, to the dam and then returning to Zierikzee.  A few riders opted out after their rough day yesterday.  The headwind continued to be about 35 mph for 40 miles.  Today, the weather was beautiful, much less wind, and about 40K.  Those of us who rode today agreed it was the best day so far.  We re-boarded the Elodie about 4pm and set sail for Middleburg.  Another great meal followed by creme brule...I ate mine and Doug's!  Took an evening stroll into town and have now fallen into our bunks to rest up for a big journey tomorrow, crossing into Ghent Belgium.
