Day 6 on the Elodie - Ghent (?)

Part 1:
Opted to stay on board again, with Gail, Mark and Alicia.  It was a great decision as the weather is not great, raining off and on.  It was an interesting ride, traveling through several huge locks.  We stopped for refueling and a supply delivery, perfectly timed to happen simultaneously.   The riders had another 49K day ahead and were planning to stop for a mussel-feed (or muscle feed...ha!)  for lunch.  We will be picking them up in 2 hours and sailing to Ghent together.
Part 2:
Picked up the group right on schedule and began happy hour...another great day all around.  Nico informed us there is a gas leak in Ghent and we are not allowed to moor there yet.  I don't know if it is lost in translation or what, but we don't know what a "gas leak" means.  Is it natural gas,  a nuclear reactor or pollution?  We are hanging out aboard the ship in the middle of an industrial area, awaiting the go ahead to proceed...kinda weird,  but no one is too concerned.  We enjoyed our Last Supper together this evening...can't believe it is here already. We had quiche appetizer, roasted duck over sauerkraut with cranberry compote, and grand marnier ice cream.  Tomorrow night we will dine on our own in Bruges,  and then Sunday disembark. :(
Nico explained the plans for tomorrow, contingent on where we moor tonight, but basically will be riding another 40K in Bruges tomorrow with several fun stops along the way.  Unless my leg falls off, I WILL be cycling the entire thing tomorrow.  Rain is expected again, but as long as I can avoid the wind I'll be ok.  Pics below start with the supply order, fueling, and the locks, followed by whatever I happen to post!

Quote of the day:

THE WORST DAY OF RIDING ON THIS TRIP BEATS THE BEST DAY OF WORK ANYTIME!
